Apprenticeship Delivery During Lockdown

Apprenticeship Delivery During Lockdown 3.0

The safety of the NBC team and our Apprentices remains our number one priority. We want to reassure all of our stakeholders that during this new period of ‘lockdown’ restrictions, we will continue to support both our apprentices and our employers to ensure progression and continued development.

Our Apprenticeship provision will run remotely during this lockdown period. As all of our apprentices and employers are aware, we have developed our digitally enabled provision over the past 10 months. All apprentices have a Skills Portfolio and Skills Builder account where they are able to access learning, communicate with their Trainer and submit work on line; all learners are offered Go 2 Webinar sessions at least once every 2 weeks; apprentices requiring extra support or where we have concerns about safety or well-being will be contacted at least once per week. Regular newsletters are circulated to employers and learners.

We are working closely with all of our apprentices and employers to ensure that they enter gateway on time, where possible. We accept that some of our apprentices including those working for the NHS have further constraints at this time and are providing support and guidance. All of our End Point Assessments are being carried out remotely and we will support each apprentice and employer with this. So far, all remote EPA’s have been successful.

Our centre is COVID Safe and we continue to adhere to all Covid-19 regulations and guidance, in order to ensure the safety of our teams and our learners. This is constantly reviewed, along with our risk assessments in line with government.

For any learners placed onto furlough, we can continue apprenticeship programmes and ensure learners remain engaged and progress with their studies. If any apprentice is made redundant, we will continue to work with them and support them to find new employment.
We look forward to being able to welcome apprentices back in to centre and to visit employers premises when the government deems it safe to do so.
