Today we were visited by Sharron Wilkinson from Give..A few Words CIC, following our letter writing and gift donations at Christmas. Sharron gave a presentation about her organisation. She discussed why she started it following her mum being a care home and noticing that residents were lonely and how communication is a basic human need. The group did a free writing exercise, made paper hearts and coloured in some templates all of which can be sent to lonely residents in Calderdale and Kirklees. Sharron said “It was a fabulous afternoon with creativity in abundance and lots of conversations around compassion, empathy and kindness.”
